This project covers 510sqm of common area roof space and replaces existing dilapidated resident amenities and failing roof membrane. New recreational facilities include above ground swimming pool and decking surrounds, cabana with kitchenette, bbq and outdoor lounges, shade structures, open lawn playing area and gardens.
Green roof products have been specified extensively throughout this project and will provide the following environmental, economic and social benefits: lightweight growing medium for plants, improved thermal insulation for the buildings occupants reducing their carbon footprint by minimising the need for heating and cooling, increased life span of the roof structure and newly installed roof membrane, minimal surface run-off, reduced impact on the cities heat-island effect due to cooler ambient roof temperature, rainwater harvesting using drainage and water retention trays to minimise the burden on the cities water supply for irrigation, habitat creation for birds and invertebrates and quality outdoor recreational space for the residents.
